Chapters 35-38
Chapter 35
1) Of David. Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. |
א. לְדָוִד רִיבָה יְיָ אֶת־יְרִיבַי לְחַם אֶת־לֹחֲמָי |
2) Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise up to help me. |
ב. הַחֲזֵק מָגֵן וְצִנָּה וְקוּמָה בְּעֶזְרָתִי |
3) Draw also the spear and stop the way against those who pursue me; say to my soul, “I am your salvation.” |
ג. וְהָרֵק חֲנִית וּסְגֹר לִקְרַאת רֹדְפָי אֱמֹר לְנַפְשִׁי יְשׁוּעָתֵךְ אָנִי |
4) Let those who seek my life be ashamed and disgraced; let those who plot my harm be turned back and confounded. |
ד. יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיִכָּלְמוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר וְיַחְפְּרוּ חֹשְׁבֵי רָעָתִי |
5) Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away. |
ה. יִהְיוּ כְּמֹץ לִפְנֵי־רוּחַ וּמַלְאַךְ יְיָ דֹּחֶה |
6) Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them. |
ו. יְהִי־דַרְכָּם חֹשֶׁךְ וַחֲלַקְלַקּוֹת וּמַלְאַךְ יְיָ רֹדְפָם |
7) For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my soul. |
ז. כִּי־חִנָּם טָמְנוּ־לִי שַׁחַת רִשְׁתָּם חִנָּם חָפְרוּ לְנַפְשִׁי |
8) Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he hid catch him; into that destruction let him fall. |
ח. תְּבֹאֵהוּ שׁוֹאָה לֹא יֵדָע וְרִשְׁתוֹ אֲשֶׁר־טָמַן תִּלְכְּדוֹ בְּשׁוֹאָה יִפָּל־בָּהּ |
9) And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in His salvation. |
ט. וְנַפְשִׁי תָגִיל בַּי־יָ תָּשִׂישׂ בִּישׁוּעָתוֹ |
10) All my bones shall say: “Lord, who is like You, delivering the poor from one stronger than he, the poor and needy from him who robs him?” |
י. כָּל־עַצְמוֹתַי תֹּאמַרְנָה יְיָ מִי כָמוֹךָ מַצִּיל עָנִי מֵחָזָק מִמֶּנּוּ וְעָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן מִגֹּזְלוֹ |
11) False witnesses rise up; they ask me things I do not know. |
יא. יָקוּמוּ עֵדֵי חָמָס אֲשֶׁר לֹא יָדַעְתִּי יִשְׁאָלֻנִי |
12) They repay me evil for good, bereavement to my soul. |
יב. יְשַׁלְּמוּנִי רָעָה תַּחַת טוֹבָה שְׁכוֹל לְנַפְשִׁי |
13) But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I afflicted my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned into my bosom. |
יג. וַאֲנִי בַּחֲלֹותָם לְבוּשִׁי שָׂק עִנֵּיתִי בַצּוֹם נַפְשִׁי וּתְפִלָּתִי עַל־חֵק יְשׁוּב |
14) I behaved as though he had been my friend or brother; I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother. |
יד. כְּרֵעַ כְּאָח־לִי הִתְהַלָּכְתִּי כַּאֲבֵל אֵם קֹדֵר שַׁחוֹתִי |
15) But in my adversity they rejoiced and gathered together; wretches gathered themselves against me, and I did not know it; they tore and did not cease. |
טו. וּבְצַלְעִי שָׂמְחוּ וְנֶאֶסָפוּ נֶאֶסְפוּ עָלַי נֵכִים וְלֹא יָדַעְתִּי קָרְעוּ וְלֹא דָמּוּ |
16) With profane mockers for bread, they gnashed at me with their teeth. |
טז. בְּחַנְפֵי לַעֲגֵי מָעוֹג חָרֹק עָלַי שִׁנֵּימוֹ |
17) Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my precious life from the lions. |
יז. אֲדֹנָי כַּמָּה תִּרְאֶה הָשִׁיבָה נַפְשִׁי מִשֹּׁאֵיהֶם מִכְּפִירִים יְחִידָתִי |
18) I will give You thanks in the great congregation; among a mighty people I will praise You. |
יח. אוֹדְךָ בְּקָהָל רָב בְּעַם עָצוּם אֲהַלְלֶךָּ |
19) Let not those who are my deceitful enemies rejoice over me, nor let those who hate me without cause wink the eye. |
יט. אַל־יִשְׂמְחוּ לִי אֹיְבַי שֶׁקֶר שֹׂנְאַי חִנָּם יִקְרְצוּ עָיִן |
20) For they do not speak peace, but against those who are quiet in the land they devise deceitful words. |
כ. כִּי לֹא־שָׁלוֹם יְדַבֵּרוּ וְעַל־רִגְעֵי־אֶרֶץ דִּבְרֵי מִרְמוֹת יַחֲשֹׁבוּן |
21) They opened their mouth wide against me; they said, “Aha, aha, our eye has seen it.” |
כא. וַיַּרְחִיבוּ עָלַי פִּיהֶם אָמְרוּ הֶאָח הֶאָח רָאֲתָה עֵינֵינוּ |
22) You have seen, O Lord; be not silent. Lord, be not far from me. |
כב. רָאִיתָ יְיָ אַל־תֶּחֱרַשׁ אֲדֹנָי אַל־תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי |
23) Stir Yourself, and awake for my judgment, my God and Lord, for my cause. |
כג. הָעִירָה וְהָקִיצָה לְמִשְׁפָּטִי אֱלֹהַי וַאדֹנָי לְרִיבִי |
24) Judge me, O Lord my God, according to Your righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. |
כד. שָׁפְטֵנִי כְצִדְקְךָ יְיָ אֱלֹהָי וְאַל־יִשְׂמְחוּ לִי |
25) Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha, we have our desire!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.” |
כה. אַל־יֹאמְרוּ בְלִבָּם הֶאָח נַפְשֵׁנוּ אַל־יֹאמְרוּ בִּלַּעֲנוּהוּ |
26) Let them be ashamed and confounded together who rejoice at my harm; let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me. |
כו. יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיַחְפְּרוּ יַחַד שְׂמֵחֵי רָעָתִי יִלְבְּשׁוּ־בוֹשֶׁת וּכְלִמָּה הַמַּגְדִּילִים עָלָי |
27) Let those who favor my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad; let them always say, “The Lord be magnified, who delights in the peace of His servant.” |
כז. יָרֹנּוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ חֲפֵצֵי צִדְקִי וְיֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד יִגְדַּל יְיָ הֶחָפֵץ שְׁלוֹם עַבְדּוֹ |
28) And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all day long. |
כח. וּלְשׁוֹנִי תֶּהְגֶּה צִדְקֶךָ כָּל־הַיּוֹם תְּהִלָּתֶךָ |
Chapter 36
1) For the conductor. Of David, the servant of the Lord. |
א. לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְעֶבֶד־יְיָ לְדָוִד |
2) The transgression of the wicked speaks within my heart: there is no fear of God before his eyes. |
ב. נְאֻם־פֶּשַׁע לָרָשָׁע בְּקֶרֶב לִבִּי אֵין פַּחַד אֱלֹהִים לְנֶגֶד עֵינָיו |
3) For he flatters himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity is found to be hateful. |
ג. כִּי־הֶחֱלִיק אֵלָיו בְּעֵינָיו לִמְצֹא עֲוֹנוֹ לִשְׂנֹא |
4) The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and to do good. |
ד. דִּבְרֵי־פִיו אָוֶן וּמִרְמָה חָדַל לְהַשְׂכִּיל לְהֵיטִיב |
5) He devises wickedness upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not despise evil. |
ה. אָוֶן יַחְשֹׁב עַל־מִשְׁכָּבוֹ יִתְיַצֵּב עַל־דֶּרֶךְ לֹא־טוֹב רָע לֹא יִמְאַס |
6) O Lord, Your mercy is in the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. |
ו. יְיָ בַּשָּׁמַיִם חַסְדֶּךָ אֱמוּנָתְךָ עַד־שְׁחָקִים |
7) Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You save both man and beast. |
ז. צִדְקָתְךָ כְּהַרְרֵי־אֵל מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ תְּהוֹם רַבָּה אָדָם וּבְהֵמָה תוֹשִׁיעַ יְיָ |
8) How precious is Your kindness, O God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of Your wings. |
ח. מַה־יָּקָר חַסְדְּךָ אֱלֹהִים וּבְנֵי אָדָם בְּצֵל־כְּנָפֶיךָ יֶחֱסָיוּן |
9) They shall be abundantly satisfied with the richness of Your house; and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. |
ט. יִרְוְיוּן מִדֶּשֶׁן בֵּיתֶךָ וְנַחַל עֲדָנֶיךָ תַשְׁקֵם |
10) For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. |
י. כִּי־עִמְּךָ מְקוֹר חַיִּים בְּאוֹרְךָ נִרְאֶה־אוֹר |
11) Continue Your kindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart. |
יא. מְשֹׁךְ חַסְדְּךָ לְיֹדְעֶיךָ וְצִדְקָתְךָ לְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵב |
12) Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked move me. |
יב. אַל־תְּבוֹאֵנִי רֶגֶל גַּאֲוָה וְיַד־רְשָׁעִים אַל־תְּנִידֵנִי |
13) There the workers of iniquity have fallen; they are cast down and are not able to rise. |
יג. שָׁם נָפְלוּ פֹעֲלֵי אָוֶן דֹּחוּ וְלֹא יָכְלוּ קוּם |
Chapter 37
1) Of David. Do not be upset because of evildoers; do not envy those who commit injustice. |
א. לְדָוִד אַל־תִּתְחַר בַּמְּרֵעִים אַל־תְּקַנֵּא בְּעֹשֵׂי עַוְלָה |
2) For they will quickly wither like grass, and like green vegetation they will fade. |
ב. כִּי כֶחָצִיר מְהֵרָה יִמָּלוּ וּכְיֶרֶק דֶּשֶׁא יִבּוֹלוּן |
3) Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and be nourished by faith. |
ג. בְּטַח בַּיהוָה וַעֲשֵׂה־טוֹב שְׁכָן־אֶרֶץ וּרְעֵה אֱמוּנָה |
4) Delight in the Lord, and He will grant you the requests of your heart. |
ד. וְהִתְעַנֵּג עַל־יְהוָה וְיִתֶּן־לְךָ מִשְׁאֲלוֹת לִבֶּךָ |
5) Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. |
ה. גּוֹל עַל־יְהוָה דַּרְכֶּךָ וּבְטַח עָלָיו וְהוּא יַעֲשֶׂה |
6) He will bring forth your righteousness like the light, and your judgment like the noon. |
ו. וְהוֹצִיא כָאוֹר צִדְקֶךָ וּמִשְׁפָּטְךָ כַּצָּהֳרָיִם |
7) Be silent before the Lord and wait for Him; do not be upset over one who prospers in his way, over a man who devises schemes. |
ז. דּוֹם לַיהוָה וְהִתְחוֹלֵל לוֹ אַל־תִּתְחַר בְּמַצְלִיחַ דַּרְכּוֹ בְּאִישׁ עֹשֶׂה מְזִמּוֹת |
8) Let go of anger and abandon wrath; do not be upset, for it leads only to harm. |
ח. הֶרֶף מֵאַף וַעֲזֹב חֵמָה אַל־תִּתְחַר אַךְ לְהָרֵעַ |
9) For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord—they shall inherit the land. |
ט. כִּי־מְרֵעִים יִכָּרֵתוּן וְקוֵֹי יְהוָה הֵמָּה יִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץ |
10) Yet a little while, and the wicked is no more; you will look at his place, and he is gone. |
י. וְעוֹד מְעַט וְאֵין רָשָׁע וְהִתְבּוֹנַנְתָּ עַל־מְקוֹמוֹ וְאֵינֶנּוּ |
11) But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in abundant peace. |
יא. וַעֲנָוִים יִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץ וְהִתְעַנְּגוּ עַל־רֹב שָׁלוֹם |
12) The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him. |
יב. זֹמֵם רָשָׁע לַצַּדִּיק וְחוֹרֵק עָלָיו שִׁנָּיו |
13) The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming. |
יג. אֲדֹנָי יִשְׂחַק־לוֹ כִּי רָאָה כִּי־יָבוֹא יוֹמוֹ |
14) The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those of upright way. |
יד. חֶרֶב פָּתְחוּ רְשָׁעִים וְדָרְכוּ קַשְׁתָּם לְהַפִּיל עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן לִטְבוֹחַ יִשְׁרֵי־דָרֶךְ |
15) Their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. |
טו. חַרְבָּם תָּבוֹא בְלִבָּם וְקַשְּׁתוֹתָם תִּשָּׁבַרְנָה |
16) Better the little that the righteous has than the great wealth of many wicked. |
טז. טוֹב מְעַט לַצַּדִּיק מֵהֲמוֹן רְשָׁעִים רַבִּים |
17) For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. |
יז. כִּי זְרוֹעוֹת רְשָׁעִים תִּשָּׁבַרְנָה וְסוֹמֵךְ צַדִּיקִים יְהוָה |
18) The Lord knows the days of the wholehearted, and their inheritance shall be forever. |
יח. יוֹדֵעַ יְהוָה יְמֵי תְמִימִם וְנַחֲלָתָם לְעוֹלָם תִּהְיֶה |
19) They shall not be ashamed in time of evil, and in days of famine they shall be satisfied. |
יט. לֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּ בְעֵת רָעָה וּבִימֵי רְעָבוֹן יִשְׂבָּעוּ |
20) For the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord are like the beauty of the meadows—they vanish; like smoke, they vanish away. |
כ. כִּי רְשָׁעִים יֹאבֵדוּ וְאֹיְבֵי יְהוָה כִּיקַר כָּרִים כָּלוּ בֶעָשָׁן כָּלוּ |
21) The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous is generous and gives. |
כא. לֹוֶה רָשָׁע וְלֹא יְשַׁלֵּם וְצַדִּיק חוֹנֵן וְנוֹתֵן |
22) For those blessed by Him shall inherit the land, but those cursed by Him shall be cut off. |
כב. כִּי מְבֹרָכָיו יִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץ וּמְקֻלָּלָיו יִכָּרֵתוּ |
23) By the Lord, the steps of a man are established, and He delights in his way. |
כג. מֵיְהוָה מִצְעֲדֵי־גֶבֶר כּוֹנָנוּ וְדַרְכּוֹ יֶחְפָּץ |
24) Though he fall, he shall not be cast down, for the Lord supports his hand. |
כד. כִּי יִפּוֹל לֹא יוּטָל כִּי יְהוָה סוֹמֵךְ יָדוֹ |
25) I was young and now I am old, yet I have not seen a righteous one forsaken, nor his offspring begging for bread. |
כה. נַעַר הָיִיתִי גַּם־זָקַנְתִּי וְלֹא־רָאִיתִי צַדִּיק נֶעֱזָב וְזַרְעוֹ מְבַקֵּשׁ לָחֶם |
26) All day long he deals generously and lends, and his offspring are for a blessing. |
כו. כָּל־הַיּוֹם חוֹנֵן וּמַלְוֶה וְזַרְעוֹ לִבְרָכָה |
27) Turn from evil and do good, and dwell forever. |
כז. סוּר מֵרָע וַעֲשֵׂה־טוֹב וּשְׁכֹן לְעוֹלָם |
28) For the Lord loves justice and does not forsake His faithful ones; they are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked is cut off. |
כח. כִּי־יְהוָה אֹהֵב מִשְׁפָּט וְלֹא־יַעֲזֹב אֶת־חֲסִידָיו לְעוֹלָם נִשְׁמָרוּ וְזֶרַע רְשָׁעִים נִכְרָת |
29) The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever. |
כט. צַדִּיקִים יִירְשׁוּ־אָרֶץ וְיִשְׁכְּנוּ לָעַד עָלֶיהָ |
30) The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. |
ל. פִּי־צַדִּיק יֶהְגֶּה חָכְמָה וּלְשׁוֹנוֹ תְדַבֵּר מִשְׁפָּט |
31) The teaching of his God is in his heart; his steps shall not falter. |
לא. תּוֹרַת אֱלֹהָיו בְּלִבּוֹ לֹא־תִמְעַד אֲשֻׁרָיו |
32) The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to put him to death. |
לב. צוֹפֶה רָשָׁע לַצַּדִּיק וּמְבַקֵּשׁ לַהֲמִיתוֹ |
33) The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor let him be condemned when he is judged. |
לג. יְהוָה לֹא־יַעַזְבֶנּוּ בְיָדוֹ וְלֹא יַרְשִׁיעֶנּוּ בְּהִשָּׁפְטוֹ |
34) Hope in the Lord and keep His way, and He will raise you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. |
לד. קַוֵּה אֶל־יְהוָה וּשְׁמֹר דַּרְכּוֹ וִירוֹמִמְךָ לָרֶשֶׁת אָרֶץ בְּהִכָּרֵת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶה |
35) I have seen a wicked, ruthless man spreading himself like a flourishing native tree. |
לה. רָאִיתִי רָשָׁע עָרִיץ וּמִתְעָרֶה כְּאֶזְרָח רַעֲנָן |
36) Yet he passed away, and behold, he was gone; I sought him, but he could not be found. |
לו. וַיַּעֲבֹר וְהִנֵּה אֵינֶנּוּ וָאֲבַקְשֵׁהוּ וְלֹא נִמְצָא |
37) Observe the wholehearted and see the upright, for there is a future for a man of peace. |
לז. שְׁמוֹר תָּם וּרְאֵה יָשָׁר כִּי־אַחֲרִית לְאִישׁ שָׁלוֹם |
38) But transgressors shall be destroyed together; the end of the wicked shall be cut off. |
לח. וּפֹשְׁעִים נִשְׁמְדוּ יַחְדָּו אַחֲרִית רְשָׁעִים נִכְרָתָה |
39) The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. |
לט. וּתְשׁוּעַת צַדִּיקִים מֵיְהוָה מָעוּזָּם בְּעֵת צָרָה |
40) The Lord helps them and rescues them; He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, for they take refuge in Him. |
מ. וַיַּעְזְרֵם יְהוָה וַיְפַלְּטֵם יְפַלְּטֵם מֵרְשָׁעִים וְיוֹשִׁיעֵם כִּי חָסוּ בוֹ |
Chapter 38
1) A psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. |
א. מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד לְהַזְכִּיר |
2) O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, and do not chasten me in Your wrath. |
ב. יְהוָה אַל־בְּקֶצְפְּךָ תוֹכִיחֵנִי וּבַחֲמָתְךָ תְיַסְּרֵנִי |
3) For Your arrows have sunk into me, and Your hand has come down upon me. |
ג. כִּי חִצֶּיךָ נִחֲתוּ בִי וַתִּנְחַת עָלַי יָדֶךָ |
4) There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; there is no peace in my bones because of my sin. |
ד. אֵין מְתֹם בִּבְשָׂרִי מִפְּנֵי זַעְמֶךָ אֵין שָׁלוֹם בַּעֲצָמַי מִפְּנֵי חַטָּאתִי |
5) For my iniquities have passed over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me. |
ה. כִּי־עֲוֹנֹתַי עָבְרוּ רֹאשִׁי כְּמַשָּׂא כָבֵד יִכְבְּדוּ מִמֶּנִּי |
6) My wounds have become foul, they have decayed, because of my foolishness. |
ו. הִבְאִישׁוּ נָמַקּוּ חַבּוּרֹתַי מִפְּנֵי אִוַּלְתִּי |
7) I am bent, I am bowed exceedingly; all the day I go about in gloom. |
ז. נַעֲוֵיתִי שַׁחֹתִי עַד־מְאֹד כָּל־הַיּוֹם קֹדֵר הִלָּכְתִּי |
8) For my loins are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh. |
ח. כִּי כְסָלַי מָלְאוּ נִקְלֶה וְאֵין מְתֹם בִּבְשָׂרִי |
9) I am feeble and crushed exceedingly; I roar from the groaning of my heart. |
ט. נְפוּגֹתִי וְנִדְכֵּיתִי עַד־מְאֹד שָׁאַגְתִּי מִנַּהֲמַת לִבִּי |
10) O Lord, before You is all my desire, and my sighing is not hidden from You. |
י. אֲדֹנָי נֶגֶדְךָ כָּל־תַּאֲוָתִי וְאַנְחָתִי מִמְּךָ לֹא־נִסְתָּרָה |
11) My heart throbs, my strength has forsaken me, and the light of my eyes—even they are not with me. |
יא. לִבִּי סְחַרְחַר עֲזָבַנִי כֹחִי וְאוֹר־עֵינַי גַּם־הֵם אֵין אִתִּי |
12) My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague, and my kinsmen stand afar off. |
יב. אֹהֲבַי וְרֵעָי מִנֶּגֶד נִגְעִי יַעֲמֹדוּ וּקְרוֹבַי מֵרָחֹק עָמָדוּ |
13) Those who seek my life lay traps; those who seek my harm speak mischief, and deceit all the day they plot. |
יג. וַיְנַקְשׁוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי וְדוֹרְשֵׁי רָעָתִי דִּבְּרוּ הַוּוֹת וּמִרְמוֹת כָּל־הַיּוֹם יֶהְגוּ |
14) But I, like a deaf man, do not hear, and like a mute man who does not open his mouth. |
יד. וַאֲנִי כְחֵרֵשׁ לֹא אֶשְׁמָע וּכְאִלֵּם לֹא־יִפְתַּח־פִּיו |
15) And I have been as a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth are no rebukes. |
טו. וָאֱהִי כְּאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־שֹׁמֵעַ וְאֵין בְּפִיו תּוֹכָחוֹת |
16) For in You, O Lord, I have hoped; You will answer, O Lord my God. |
טז. כִּי־לְךָ יְהוָה הוֹחָלְתִּי אַתָּה תַעֲנֶה אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהָי |
17) For I said, lest they rejoice over me; when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me. |
יז. כִּי־אָמַרְתִּי פֶּן־יִשְׂמְחוּ לִי בְּמוֹט רַגְלִי עָלַי הִגְדִּילוּ |
18) For I am ready to fall, and my pain is continually before me. |
יח. כִּי־אֲנִי לְצֵלַע נָכוֹן וּמַכְאֹבִי נֶגְדִּי תָמִיד |
19) For my iniquity I declare; I am anxious because of my sin. |
יט. כִּי־עֲוֹנִי אַגִּיד אֶדְאַג מֵחַטָּאתִי |
20) But my enemies are vigorous, they are strong, and those who hate me falsely have multiplied. |
כ. וְאֹיְבַי חַיִּים עָצוּ וְרַבּוּ שֹׂנְאַי שָׁקֶר |
21) And those who repay evil for good oppose me, because I pursue good. |
כא. וּמְשַׁלְּמֵי רָעָה תַּחַת־טוֹבָה יִשְׂטְנוּנִי תַּחַת רָדֹף־טוֹב |
22) Do not forsake me, O Lord; my God, do not be far from me. |
כב. אַל־תַּעַזְבֵנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי אַל־תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי |
23) Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation. |
כג. חוּשָׁה לְעֶזְרָתִי אֲדֹנָי תְּשׁוּעָתִי |
