Chapters 29-34
Chapter 29
1) A psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. |
א. מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד הָבוּ לַי־יָ בְּנֵי אֵלִים הָבוּ לַי־יָ כָּבוֹד וָעֹז |
2) Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His Name; bow to the Lord in the beauty of holiness. |
ב. הָבוּ לַי־יָ כְּבוֹד שְׁמוֹ הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַי־יָ בְּהַדְרַת־קֹדֶשׁ |
3) The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord is over many waters. |
ג. קוֹל יְיָ עַל־הַמָּיִם אֵל הַכָּבוֹד הִרְעִים יְיָ עַל־מַיִם רַבִּים |
4) The voice of the Lord is in power; the voice of the Lord is in majesty. |
ד. קוֹל־יְיָ בַּכֹּחַ קוֹל יְיָ בֶּהָדָר |
5) The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon. |
ה. קוֹל יְיָ שֹׁבֵר אֲרָזִים וַיְשַׁבֵּר יְיָ אֶת־אַרְזֵי הַלְּבָנוֹן |
6) He makes them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox. |
ו. וַיַּרְקִידֵם כְּמוֹ־עֵגֶל לְבָנוֹן וְשִׂרְיֹן כְּמוֹ בֶן־רְאֵמִים |
7) The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire. |
ז. קוֹל יְיָ חֹצֵב לַהֲבוֹת אֵשׁ |
8) The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. |
ח. קוֹל יְיָ יָחִיל מִדְבָּר יָחִיל יְיָ מִדְבַּר קָדֵשׁ |
9) The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare; and in His Temple everyone says, “Glory!” |
ט. קוֹל יְיָ יְחוֹלֵל אַיָּלוֹת וַיֶּחֱשֹׂף יְעָרוֹת וּבְהֵיכָלוֹ כֻּלּוֹ אֹמֵר כָּבוֹד |
10) The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood; the Lord sits as King forever. |
י. יְיָ לַמַּבּוּל יָשָׁב וַיֵּשֶׁב יְיָ מֶלֶךְ לְעוֹלָם |
11) The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. |
יא. יְיָ עֹז לְעַמּוֹ יִתֵּן יְיָ יְבָרֵךְ אֶת־עַמּוֹ בַשָּׁלוֹם |
Chapter 30
1) A psalm, a song for the dedication of the House, of David. |
א. מִזְמוֹר שִׁיר חֲנֻכַּת הַבַּיִת לְדָוִד |
2) I will exalt You, Lord, for You have lifted me up and have not let my enemies rejoice over me. |
ב. אֲרוֹמִמְךָ יְיָ כִּי דִלִּיתָנִי וְלֹא־שִׂמַּחְתָּ אֹיְבַי לִי |
3) Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. |
ג. יְיָ אֱלֹהַי שִׁוַּעְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ וַתִּרְפָּאֵנִי |
4) Lord, You brought up my soul from Sheol; You kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. |
ד. יְיָ הֶעֱלִיתָ מִן־שְׁאוֹל נַפְשִׁי חִיִּיתַנִי מיָּרְדִי בוֹר |
5) Sing praises to the Lord, His faithful ones, and give thanks to His holy remembrance. |
ה. זַמְּרוּ לַי־יָ חֲסִידָיו וְהוֹדוּ לְזֵכֶר קָדְשׁוֹ |
6) For His anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may lodge for the night, but in the morning—joy. |
ו. כִּי רֶגַע בְּאַפּוֹ חַיִּים בִּרְצוֹנוֹ בָּעֶרֶב יָלִין בֶּכִי וְלַבֹּקֶר רִנָּה |
7) And I said in my prosperity: “I shall never be moved.” |
ז. וַאֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְשַׁלְוִי בַּל־אֶמּוֹט לְעוֹלָם |
8) Lord, by Your favor You made my mountain stand strong; when You hid Your face, I was terrified. |
ח. יְיָ בִּרְצוֹנְךָ הֶעֱמַדְתָּ לְהַרְרִי עֹז הִסְתַּרְתָּ פָנֶיךָ הָיִיתִי נִבְהָל |
9) To You, Lord, I called, and to the Master I made supplication. |
ט. אֵלֶיךָ יְיָ אֶקְרָא וְאֶל־אֲדֹנָי אֶתְחַנָּן |
10) What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? |
י. מַה־בֶּצַע בְּדָמִי בְּרִדְתִּי אֶל־שָׁחַת הֲיוֹדְךָ עָפָר הֲיַגִּיד אֲמִתֶּךָ |
11) Hear, Lord, and be gracious to me; Lord, be my helper. |
יא. שְׁמַע יְיָ וְחָנֵּנִי יְיָ הֱיֵה־עֹזֵר לִי |
12) You turned my mourning into dancing for me; You loosened my sackcloth and girded me with joy. |
יב. הָפַכְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי לְמָחוֹל לִי פִּתַּחְתָּ שַׂקִּי וַתְּאַזְּרֵנִי שִׂמְחָה |
13) So that my soul may sing praises to You and not be silent; Lord my God, I will thank You forever. |
יג. לְמַעַן יְזַמֶּרְךָ כָבוֹד וְלֹא יִדֹּם יְיָ אֱלֹהַי לְעוֹלָם אוֹדֶךָּ |
Chapter 31
1) For the conductor, a psalm of David. |
א. לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד |
2) In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be ashamed; in Your righteousness, rescue me. |
ב. בְּךָ יְיָ חָסִיתִי אַל־אֵבוֹשָׁה לְעוֹלָם בְּצִדְקָתְךָ פַלְּטֵנִי |
3) Incline Your ear to me; deliver me quickly; be to me a rock of refuge, a stronghold to save me. |
ג. הַטֵּה אֵלַי אָזְנְךָ מְהֵרָה הַצִּילֵנִי הֱיֵה־לִי לְצוּר מָעוֹז לְבֵית מְצוּדוֹת לְהוֹשִׁיעֵנִי |
4) For You are my rock and my fortress; for Your Name’s sake You will guide me and lead me. |
ד. כִּי־סַלְעִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אָתָּה וּלְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ תַּנְחֵנִי וּתוֹלִיכֵנִי |
5) You will free me from the net they have hidden for me, for You are my stronghold. |
ה. תּוֹצִיאֵנִי מֵרֶשֶׁת זוּ טָמְנוּ לִי כִּי־אַתָּה מָעוּזִּי |
6) Into Your hand I entrust my spirit; You have redeemed me, Lord, God of truth. |
ו. בְּיָדְךָ אַפְקִיד רוּחִי פָּדִיתָה אוֹתִי יְיָ אֵל אֱמֶת |
7) I despise those who regard worthless idols; but as for me, I trust in the Lord. |
ז. שָׂנֵאתִי הַשֹּׁמְרִים הַבְלֵי־שָׁוְא וַאֲנִי אֶל־יְיָ בָטָחְתִּי |
8) I will rejoice and be glad in Your kindness, for You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul. |
ח. אָגִילָה וְאֶשְׂמְחָה בְּחַסְדֶּךָ אֲשֶׁר רָאִיתָ אֶת־עָנְיִי יָדַעְתָּ בְּצָרוֹת נַפְשִׁי |
9) You have not given me into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. |
ט. וְלֹא־הִסְגַּרְתַּנִי בְיַד־אוֹיֵב הֶעֱמַדְתָּ בַמֶּרְחָב רַגְלָי |
10) Be gracious to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted away with grief, my soul and my belly also. |
י. חָנֵּנִי יְיָ כִּי־צַר־לִי עָשְׁשָׁה בְכַעַס עֵינִי נַפְשִׁי וּבִטְנִי |
11) For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away. |
יא. כִּי־כָלוּ בְיָגוֹן חַיַּי וּשְׁנוֹתַי בַּאֲנָחָה כָּשַׁל בַּעֲוֹנִי כֹחִי וְעַצְמוֹתַי עָשֵׁשׁוּ |
12) Among all my adversaries I have become a reproach, and especially to my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances; those who see me outside flee from me. |
יב. מִכָּל־צֹרְרַי הָיִיתִי חֶרְפָּה וְלִשְׁכֵנַי מְאֹד וּפַחַד לִמְיֻדָּעָי רֹאַי בַחוּץ נָדְדוּ מִמֶּנִּי |
13) I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind; I am like a lost vessel. |
יג. נִשְׁכַּחְתִּי כְּמֵת מִלֵּב הָיִיתִי כִּכְלִי אֹבֵד |
14) For I have heard the slander of many; terror on every side, when they conspire together against me; they plot to take my life. |
יד. כִּי שָׁמַעְתִּי דִּבַּת רַבִּים מָגוֹר מִסָּבִיב בְּהִוָּאָסְדָם יַחַד עָלַי לָקַחַת נַפְשִׁי זָמָמוּ |
15) But I, I trust in You, Lord; I said, “You are my God.” |
טו. וַאֲנִי עָלֶיךָ בָטַחְתִּי יְיָ אָמַרְתִּי אֱלֹהַי אָתָּה |
16) My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who pursue me. |
טז. בְּיָדְךָ עִתֹּתָי הַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד־אוֹיְבַי וּמֵרֹדְפָי |
17) Make Your face shine upon Your servant; save me in Your kindness. |
יז. הָאִירָה פָנֶיךָ עַל־עַבְדֶּךָ הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי בְּחַסְדֶּךָ |
18) Lord, let me not be ashamed, for I have called upon You; let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol. |
יח. יְיָ אַל־אֵבוֹשָׁה כִּי־קְרָאתִיךָ יֵבֹשׁוּ רְשָׁעִים יִדְּמוּ לִשְׁאוֹל |
19) Let lying lips be silenced, which speak arrogantly against the righteous, with pride and contempt. |
יט. תֵּאַלַמְנָה שִׂפְתֵי־שָׁקֶר הַדֹּבְרוֹת עַל־צַדִּיק עָתָק בְּגַאֲוָה וָבוּז |
20) How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the sons of men. |
כ. מָה־רַב טוּבְךָ אֲשֶׁר־צָפַנְתָּ לִירֵאֶיךָ פָּעַלְתָּ לַחֹסִים בָּךְ נֶגֶד בְּנֵי אָדָם |
21) You hide them in the shelter of Your presence from the schemes of man; You conceal them in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. |
כא. תַּסְתִּירֵם בְּסֵתֶר פָּנֶיךָ מֵרֻכְסֵי אִישׁ תִּצְפְּנֵם בְּסֻכָּה מֵרִיב לְשֹׁנוֹת |
22) Blessed be the Lord, for He has shown me His wondrous kindness in a fortified city. |
כב. בָּרוּךְ יְיָ כִּי־הִפְלִיא חַסְדּוֹ לִי בְּעִיר מָצוֹר |
23) And I said in my haste: “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; nevertheless, You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to You. |
כג. וַאֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְחָפְזִי נִגְרַזְתִּי מִנֶּגֶד עֵינֶיךָ אָכֵן שָׁמַעְתָּ קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנַי בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךָ |
24) Love the Lord, all His faithful ones; the Lord preserves the faithful, and repays fully the one who acts arrogantly. |
כד. אֱהָבוּ אֶת־יְיָ כָּל־חֲסִידָיו אֱמוּנִים נֹצֵר יְיָ וּמְשַׁלֵּם עַל־יֶתֶר עֹשֵׂה גַאֲוָה |
25) Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord. |
כה. חִזְקוּ וְיַאֲמֵץ לִבְּכֶם כָּל־הַמְיַחֲלִים לַי־יָ |
Chapter 32
1) Of David, a maskil: Happy is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. |
א. לְדָוִד מַשְׂכִּיל אַשְׁרֵי נְשׂוּי־פֶשַׁע כְּסוּי חֲטָאָה |
2) Happy is the man to whom the Lord does not ascribe iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. |
ב. אַשְׁרֵי אָדָם לֹא־יַחְשֹׁב יְיָ לוֹ עָוֹן וְאֵין בְּרוּחוֹ רְמִיָּה |
3) When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. |
ג. כִּי־הֶחֱרַשְׁתִּי בָּלוּ עֲצָמָי בְּשַׁאֲגָתִי כָּל־הַיּוֹם |
4) For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the drought of summer. Selah. |
ד. כִּי יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה תִּכְבַּד עָלַי יָדֶךָ נֶהְפַּךְ לְשַׁדִּי בְּחַרְבֹנֵי קָיִץ סֶלָה |
5) I acknowledged my sin to You, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. |
ה. חַטָּאתִי אוֹדִיעֲךָ וַעֲוֹנִי לֹא־כִסִּיתִי אָמַרְתִּי אוֹדֶה עֲלֵי פְשָׁעַי לַי־יָ וְאַתָּה נָשָׂאתָ עֲוֹן חַטָּאתִי סֶלָה |
6) For this let every faithful one pray to You at a time of finding; surely in the rush of great waters they will not reach him. |
ו. עַל־זֹאת יִתְפַּלֵּל כָּל־חָסִיד אֵלֶיךָ לְעֵת מְצֹא רַק לְשֶׁטֶף מַיִם רַבִּים אֵלָיו לֹא יַגִּיעוּ |
7) You are my hiding place; You guard me from distress; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. |
ז. אַתָּה סֵתֶר לִי מִצַּר תִּצְּרֵנִי רָנֵּי פַלֵּט תְּסוֹבְבֵנִי סֶלָה |
8) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you, My eye will be upon you. |
ח. אַשְׂכִּילְךָ וְאוֹרְךָ בְּדֶרֶךְ־זוּ תֵלֵךְ אִיעֲצָה עָלֶיךָ עֵינִי |
9) Do not be like a horse, like a mule, without understanding, whose trappings must be bit and bridle to hold them in, else they will not come near you. |
ט. אַל־תִּהְיוּ כְּסוּס כְּפֶרֶד אֵין הָבִין בְּמֶתֶג וָרֶסֶן עֶדְיוֹ לִבְלוֹם בַּל קְרֹב אֵלֶיךָ |
10) Many are the pains of the wicked, but one who trusts in the Lord—kindness will surround him. |
י. רַבִּים מַכְאוֹב לָרָשָׁע וְהַבֹּטֵחַ בַּי־יָ חֶסֶד יְסוֹבְבֶנּוּ |
11) Rejoice in the Lord and exult, O righteous; sing for joy, all upright in heart. |
יא. שִׂמְחוּ בַי־יָ וְגִילוּ צַדִּיקִים וְהַרְנִינוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב |
Chapter 33
1) Sing joyfully in the Lord, O righteous; praise befits the upright. |
א. רַנְּנוּ צַדִּיקִים בַּי־יָ לַיְשָׁרִים נָאוָה תְהִלָּה |
2) Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to Him with the harp of ten strings. |
ב. הוֹדוּ לַי־יָ בְּכִנּוֹר בְּנֵבֶל עָשׂוֹר זַמְּרוּ־לוֹ |
3) Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a joyous shout. |
ג. שִׁירוּ־לוֹ שִׁיר חָדָשׁ הֵיטִיבוּ נַגֵּן בִּתְרוּעָה |
4) For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness. |
ד. כִּי יָשָׁר דְּבַר־יְיָ וְכָל־מַעֲשֵׂהוּ בֶאֱמוּנָה |
5) He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the kindness of the Lord. |
ה. אֹהֵב צְדָקָה וּמִשְׁפָּט חֶסֶד יְיָ מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ |
6) By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host. |
ו. בִּדְבַר־יְיָ שָׁמַיִם נַעֲשׂוּ וּבְרוּחַ פִּיו כָּל־צְבָאָם |
7) He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; He places the deeps in storehouses. |
ז. כֹּנֵס כַּנֵּד מֵי הַיָּם נֹתֵן בְּאוֹצָרוֹת תְּהוֹמוֹת |
8) Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. |
ח. יִירְאוּ מֵי־יְיָ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ מִמֶּנּוּ יָגוּרוּ כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי תֵבֵל |
9) For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm. |
ט. כִּי הוּא אָמַר וַיֶּהִי הוּא־צִוָּה וַיַּעֲמֹד |
10) The Lord foils the counsel of nations; He thwarts the plans of peoples. |
י. יְיָ הֵפִיר עֲצַת גּוֹיִם הֵנִיא מַחְשְׁבוֹת עַמִּים |
11) The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations. |
יא. עֲצַת יְיָ לְעוֹלָם תַּעֲמֹד מַחְשְׁבוֹת לִבּוֹ לְדוֹר וָדוֹר |
12) Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen for His inheritance. |
יב. אַשְׁרֵי הַגּוֹי אֲשֶׁר יְיָ אֱלֹהָיו הָעָם בָּחַר לְנַחֲלָה לוֹ |
13) From heaven the Lord looks; He sees all the children of man. |
יג. מִשָּׁמַיִם הִבִּיט יְיָ רָאָה אֶת־כָּל־בְּנֵי הָאָדָם |
14) From His dwelling place He observes all the inhabitants of the earth. |
יד. מִמְּכוֹן שִׁבְתוֹ הִשְׁגִּיחַ אֶל־כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ |
15) He Who forms their hearts alike, Who understands all their deeds. |
טו. הַיֹּצֵר יַחַד לִבָּם הַמֵּבִין אֶל־כָּל־מַעֲשֵׂיהֶם |
16) A king is not saved by a great army; a mighty man is not delivered by great strength. |
טז. אֵין הַמֶּלֶךְ נוֹשָׁע בְּרָב־חָיִל גִּבּוֹר לֹא־יִנָּצֵל בְּרֹב־כֹּחַ |
17) A horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. |
יז. שֶׁקֶר הַסּוּס לִתְשׁוּעָה וּבְרֹב חֵילוֹ לֹא יְמַלֵּט |
18) Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those who fear Him, upon those who hope for His kindness, |
יח. הִנֵּה עֵין־יְיָ אֶל־יְרֵאָיו לַמְיַחֲלִים לְחַסְדּוֹ |
19) to deliver their soul from death and to sustain them in famine. |
יט. לְהַצִּיל מִמָּוֶת נַפְשָׁם וּלְחַיּוֹתָם בָּרָעָב |
20) Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. |
כ. נַפְשֵׁנוּ חִכְּתָה לַי־יָ עֶזְרֵנוּ וּמָגִנֵּנוּ הוּא |
21) For in Him our heart shall rejoice, because we have trusted in His holy name. |
כא. כִּי־בוֹ יִשְׂמַח לִבֵּנוּ כִּי בְשֵׁם קָדְשׁוֹ בָטָחְנוּ |
22) Let Your kindness, Lord, be upon us, just as we have hoped in You. |
כב. יְהִי־חַסְדְּךָ יְיָ עָלֵינוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר יִחַלְנוּ לָךְ |
Chapter 34
1) Of David, when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. |
א. לְדָוִד בְּשַׁנּוֹתוֹ אֶת־טַעְמוֹ לִפְנֵי אֲבִימֶלֶךְ וַיְגָרֲשֵׁהוּ וַיֵּלַךְ |
2) I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise is always in my mouth. |
ב. אֲבָרֲכָה אֶת־יְיָ בְּכָל־עֵת תָּמִיד תְּהִלָּתוֹ בְּפִי |
3) My soul shall boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear and rejoice. |
ג. בַּי־יָ תִּתְהַלֵּל נַפְשִׁי יִשְׁמְעוּ עֲנָוִים וְיִשְׂמָחוּ |
4) Magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. |
ד. גַּדְּלוּ לַי־יָ אִתִּי וּנְרוֹמְמָה שְׁמוֹ יַחְדָּו |
5) I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and from all my fears He delivered me. |
ה. דָּרַשְׁתִּי אֶת־יְיָ וְעָנָנִי וּמִכָּל־מְגוּרוֹתַי הִצִּילָנִי |
6) They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces shall not be ashamed. |
ו. הִבִּיטוּ אֵלָיו וְנָהָרוּ וּפְנֵיהֶם אַל־יֶחְפָּרוּ |
7) This poor man cried, and the Lord heard, and saved him out of all his troubles. |
ז. זֶה עָנִי קָרָא וַיֵּעָנֵהוּ יְיָ וּמִכָּל־צָרוֹתָיו הוֹשִׁיעוֹ |
8) The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. |
ח. חֹנֶה מַלְאַךְ־יְיָ סָבִיב לִירֵאָיו וַיְחַלְּצֵם |
9) Taste and see that the Lord is good; happy is the man who takes refuge in Him. |
ט. טַעֲמוּ וּרְאוּ כִּי־טוֹב יְיָ אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר יֶחֱסֶה־בּוֹ |
10) Fear the Lord, you His holy ones, for there is no lack to those who fear Him. |
י. יְראוּ אֶת־יְיָ קְדשָׁיו כִּי־אֵין מַחְסוֹר לִירֵאָיו |
11) Young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. |
יא. כְּפִירִים רָשׁוּ וְרָעֵבוּ וְדֹרְשֵׁי יְיָ לֹא־יַחְסְרוּ כָל־טוֹב |
12) Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. |
יב. לְכוּ־בָנִים שִׁמְעוּ־לִי יִרְאַת יְיָ אֲלַמֶּדְכֶם |
13) Who is the man who desires life, who loves days to see good? |
יג. מִי־הָאִישׁ הֶחָפֵץ חַיִּים אֹהֵב יָמִים לִרְאוֹת טוֹב |
14) Guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. |
יד. נְצֹר לְשׁוֹנְךָ מֵרָע וּשְׂפָתֶיךָ מִדַּבֵּר מִרְמָה |
15) Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. |
טו. סוּר מֵרָע וַעֲשֵׂה־טוֹב בַּקֵּשׁ שָׁלוֹם וְרָדְפֵהוּ |
16) The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears toward their cry. |
טז. עֵינֵי יְיָ אֶל־צַדִּיקִים וְאָזְנָיו אֶל־שַׁוְעָתָם |
17) The face of the Lord is against evildoers, to cut off their memory from the earth. |
יז. פְּנֵי יְיָ בְּעֹשֵׂי רָע לְהַכְרִית מֵאֶרֶץ זִכְרָם |
18) They cried, and the Lord heard, and delivered them from all their troubles. |
יח. צָעֲקוּ וַי־יָ שָׁמֵעַ וּמִכָּל־צָרוֹתָם הִצִּילָם |
19) The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those crushed in spirit. |
יט. קָרוֹב יְיָ לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי־לֵב וְאֶת־דַּכְּאֵי־רוּחַ יוֹשִׁיעַ |
20) Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. |
כ. רַבּוֹת רָעוֹת צַדִּיק וּמִכֻּלָּם יַצִּילֶנּוּ יְיָ |
21) He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken. |
כא. שֹׁמֵר כָּל־עַצְמוֹתָיו אַחַת מֵהֵנָּה לֹא נִשְׁבָּרָה |
22) Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. |
כב. תְּמוֹתֵת רָשָׁע רָעָה וְשֹׂנְאֵי צַדִּיק יֶאְשָׁמוּ |
23) The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none who take refuge in Him shall be guilty. |
כג. פּוֹדֶה יְיָ נֶפֶשׁ עֲבָדָיו וְלֹא יֶאְשְׁמוּ כָּל־הַחֹסִים בּוֹ |
