Chapter 23
| 1) A psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack. |
א. מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְיָ רֹעִי לֹא אֶחְסָר |
| 2) In lush pastures He makes me lie down; beside still waters He leads me. |
ב. בִּנְאוֹת דֶּשֶׁא יַרְבִּיצֵנִי עַל־מֵי מְנֻחוֹת יְנַהֲלֵנִי |
| 3) He restores my soul; He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. |
ג. נַפְשִׁי יְשׁוֹבֵב יַנְחֵנִי בְמַעְגְּלֵי־צֶדֶק לְמַעַן שְׁמוֹ |
| 4) Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. |
ד. גַּם כִּי־אֵלֵךְ בְּגֵיא צַלְמָוֶת לֹא־אִירָא רָע כִּי־אַתָּה עִמָּדִי שִׁבְטְךָ וּמִשְׁעַנְתֶּךָ הֵמָּה יְנַחֲמֻנִי |
| 5) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil, my cup overflows. |
ה. תַּעֲרֹךְ לְפָנַי שֻׁלְחָן נֶגֶד צֹרְרָי דִּשַּׁנְתָּ בַשֶּׁמֶן רֹאשִׁי כּוֹסִי רְוָיָה |
| 6) Surely goodness and kindness shall pursue me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for length of days. |
ו. אַךְ טוֹב וָחֶסֶד יִרְדְּפוּנִי כָּל־יְמֵי חַיָּי וְשַׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית־יְיָ לְאֹרֶךְ יָמִים |
Chapter 24
| 1) Of David, a psalm. The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness; the world and those who dwell in it. |
א. לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר לַי־יָ הָאָרֶץ וּמְלוֹאָהּ תֵּבֵל וְיֹשְׁבֵי בָהּ |
| 2) For He founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the rivers. |
ב. כִּי־הוּא עַל־יַמִּים יְסָדָהּ וְעַל־נְהָרוֹת יְכוֹנְנֶהָ |
| 3) Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord, and who may stand in His holy place? |
ג. מִי־יַעֲלֶה בְהַר־יְיָ וּמִי־יָקוּם בִּמְקוֹם קָדְשׁוֹ |
| 4) He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted his soul to falsehood, nor sworn deceitfully. |
ד. נְקִי כַפַּיִם וּבַר־לֵבָב אֲשֶׁר לֹא־נָשָׂא לַשָּׁוְא נַפְשִׁי וְלֹא נִשְׁבַּע לְמִרְמָה |
| 5) He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. |
ה. יִשָּׂא בְרָכָה מֵאֵת יְיָ וּצְדָקָה מֵאֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעוֹ |
| 6) This is the generation of those who seek Him, those who seek Your face, O Jacob. Selah. |
ו. זֶה דּוֹר דֹּרְשָׁיו מְבַקְשֵׁי פָנֶיךָ יַעֲקֹב סֶּלָה |
| 7) Lift up your heads, O gates; and be lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. |
ז. שְׂאוּ־שְׁעָרִים רָאשֵׁיכֶם וְהִנָּשְׂאוּ פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם וְיָבֹא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד |
| 8) Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. |
ח. מִי־זֶה מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד יְיָ עִזּוּז וְגִבּוֹר יְיָ גִּבּוֹר מִלְחָמָה |
| 9) Lift up your heads, O gates; lift them up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. |
ט. שְׂאוּ־שְׁעָרִים רָאשֵׁיכֶם וְשְׂאוּ פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם וְיָבֹא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד |
| 10) Who then is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah. |
י. מִי־הוּא זֶה מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד יְיָ צְבָאוֹת הוּא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד סֶּלָה |
Chapter 25
| 1) Of David. To You, Lord, I lift up my soul. |
א. לְדָוִד אֵלֶיךָ יְיָ נַפְשִׁי אֶשָּׂא |
| 2) My God, in You I trust; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies exult over me. |
ב. אֱלֹהַי בְּךָ בָטַחְתִּי אַל־אֵבוֹשׁ אַל־יַעַלְצוּ אֹיְבַי לִי |
| 3) Indeed, none who hope in You shall be ashamed; they shall be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. |
ג. גַּם כָּל־קוֹויךָ לֹא יֵבֹשוּ יֵבֹשוּ הַבּוֹגְדִים רֵיקָם |
| 4) Make Your ways known to me, Lord; teach me Your paths. |
ד. דְּרָכֶיךָ יְיָ הוֹדִיעֵנִי אֹרְחוֹתֶיךָ לַמְּדֵנִי |
| 5) Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day. |
ה. הַדְרִיכֵנִי בַאֲמִתֶּךָ וְלַמְּדֵנִי כִּי־אַתָּה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי אוֹתְךָ קִוִּיתִי כָּל־הַיּוֹם |
| 6) Remember Your mercies, Lord, and Your kindnesses, for they are from eternity. |
ו. זְכֹר־רַחֲמֶיךָ יְיָ וַחֲסָדֶיךָ כִּי מֵעוֹלָם הֵמָּה |
| 7) Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to Your kindness remember me, for the sake of Your goodness, Lord. |
ז. חַטֹּאות נְעוּרַי וּפְשָׁעַי אַל־תִּזְכֹּר כְּחַסְדְּךָ זְכָר־לִי אַתָּה לְמַעַן טוּבְךָ יְיָ |
| 8) Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in the way. |
ח. טוֹב וְיָשָׁר יְיָ עַל־כֵּן יוֹרֶה חַטָּאִים בַּדָּרֶךְ |
| 9) He guides the humble in justice, and teaches the humble His way. |
ט. יַדְרֵךְ עֲנָוִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט וִילַמֵּד עֲנָוִים דַּרְכּוֹ |
| 10) All the paths of the Lord are kindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies. |
י. כָּל־אָרְחוֹת יְיָ חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת לְנֹצְרֵי בְרִיתוֹ וְעֵדֹתָיו |
| 11) For Your name’s sake, Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great. |
יא. לְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ יְיָ וְסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֹנִי כִּי־רַב הוּא |
| 12) Who is the man who fears the Lord? He shall instruct him in the way he should choose. |
יב. מִי־זֶה הָאִישׁ יְרֵא יְיָ יוֹרֶנּוּ בְּדֶרֶךְ יִבְחָר |
| 13) His soul shall abide in goodness, and his seed shall inherit the land. |
יג. נַפְשׁוֹ בְּטוֹב תָּלִין וְזַרְעוֹ יִירַשׁ אָרֶץ |
| 14) The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and His covenant is to make them know it. |
יד. סוֹד יְיָ לִירֵאָיו וּבְרִיתוֹ לְהוֹדִיעָם |
| 15) My eyes are always toward the Lord, for He will bring my feet out of the net. |
טו. עֵינַי תָּמִיד אֶל־יְיָ כִּי־הוּא יוֹצִיא מֵרֶשֶׁת רַגְלָי |
| 16) Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted. |
טז. פְּנֵה־אֵלַי וְחָנֵּנִי כִּי־יָחִיד וְעָנִי אָנִי |
| 17) The troubles of my heart have enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. |
יז. צָרוֹת לְבָבִי הִרְחִיבוּ מִמְּצוּקוֹתַי הוֹצִיאֵנִי |
| 18) See my affliction and my toil, and forgive all my sins. |
יח. רְאֵה־עָנְיִי וַעֲמָלִי וְשָׂא לְכָל־חַטֹּאותָי |
| 19) See how many are my enemies, and how they hate me with violent hatred. |
יט. רְאֵה־אֹיְבַי כִּי־רָבוּ וְשִׂנְאַת חָמָס שְׂנֵאוּנִי |
| 20) Guard my soul and save me; let me not be ashamed, for I have taken refuge in You. |
כ. שָׁמְרָה נַפְשִׁי וְהַצִּילֵנִי אַל־אֵבוֹשׁ כִּי־חָסִיתִי בָךְ |
| 21) Integrity and uprightness shall guard me, for I wait for You. |
כא. תֹּם וָיֹשֶׁר יִצְּרוּנִי כִּי קִוִּיתִיךָ |
| 22) Redeem Israel, O God, from all his troubles. |
כב. פְּדֵה אֱלֹהִים אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל מִכֹּל צָרוֹתָיו |
Chapter 26
| 1) Of David. Judge me, Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, and in the Lord I have trusted; I shall not falter. |
א. לְדָוִד שָׁפְטֵנִי יְיָ כִּי־אֲנִי בְּתֻמִּי הָלַכְתִּי וּבַיְיָ בָּטַחְתִּי לֹא אֶמְעָד |
| 2) Examine me, Lord, and test me; refine my innermost parts and my heart. |
ב. בְּחָנֵנִי יְיָ וְנַסֵּנִי צָרְפָה כִלְיוֹתַי וְלִבִּי |
| 3) For Your kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth. |
ג. כִּי־חַסְדְּךָ לְנֶגֶד עֵינָי וְהִתְהַלַּכְתִּי בַּאֲמִתֶּךָ |
| 4) I have not sat with men of falsehood, and with hypocrites I do not consort. |
ד. לֹא יָשַׁבְתִּי עִם־מְתֵי־שָׁוְא וְעִם נַעֲלָמִים לֹא אָבוֹא |
| 5) I hate the gathering of evildoers, and with the wicked I will not sit. |
ה. שָׂנֵאתִי קְהַל מְרֵעִים וְעִם רְשָׁעִים לֹא אֵשֵׁב |
| 6) I wash my hands in innocence, and I circle Your altar, Lord. |
ו. אֶרְחַץ בְּנִקָּיוֹן כַּפָּי וַאֲסוֹבְבָה אֶת־מִזְבַּחֲךָ יְיָ |
| 7) To make heard the voice of thanksgiving, and to tell of all Your wondrous works. |
ז. לְהַשְׁמִיעָ בְקוֹל תּוֹדָה וּלְסַפֵּר כָּל־נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ |
| 8) Lord, I love the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells. |
ח. יְיָ אָהַבְתִּי מְעוֹן בֵּיתֶךָ וּמְקוֹם מִשְׁכַּן כְּבוֹדֶךָ |
| 9) Do not gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood. |
ט. אַל־תֶּאֱסֹף עִם־חַטָּאִים נַפְשִׁי וְעִם אַנְשֵׁי דָמִים חַיָּי |
| 10) In whose hands is wickedness, and their right hand is full of bribes. |
י. אֲשֶׁר בִּידֵיהֶם זִמָּה וִימִינָם מָלֵא שֹׁחַד |
| 11) But as for me, I walk in my integrity; redeem me and be gracious to me. |
יא. וַאֲנִי בְּתֻמִּי אֵלֵךְ פְּדֵנִי וְחָנֵּנִי |
| 12) My foot stands on level ground; in assemblies I will bless the Lord. |
יב. רַגְלִי עָמְדָה בְמִישׁוֹר בְּמַקְהֵלִים אֲבָרֵךְ יְיָ |
Chapter 27
| 1) Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? |
א. לְדָוִד יְיָ אוֹרִי וְיִשְׁעִי מִמִּי אִירָא יְיָ מָעוֹז־חַיַּי מִמִּי אֶפְחָד |
| 2) When evildoers came near against me to eat my flesh, my adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. |
ב. בִּקְרֹב עָלַי מְרֵעִים לֶאֱכוֹל אֶת־בְּשָׂרִי צָרַי וְאֹיְבַי לִי הֵמָּה כָשְׁלוּ וְנָפָלוּ |
| 3) Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, in this I trust. |
ג. אִם־תַּחֲנֶה עָלַי מַחֲנֶה לֹא־יִירָא לִבִּי אִם־תָּקוּם עָלַי מִלְחָמָה בְּזֹאת אֲנִי בוֹטֵחַ |
| 4) One thing I asked of the Lord, that I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His Temple. |
ד. אַחַת שָׁאַלְתִּי מֵאֵת־יְיָ אוֹתָהּ אֲבַקֵּשׁ שִׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית־יְיָ כָּל־יְמֵי חַיַּי לַחֲזוֹת בְּנֹעַם־יְיָ וּלְבַקֵּר בְּהֵיכָלוֹ |
| 5) For He will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me in the secret place of His tent; He will lift me high upon a rock. |
ה. כִּי יִצְפְּנֵנִי בְּסֻכֹּה בְּיוֹם רָעָה יַסְתִּרֵנִי בְּסֵתֶר אָהֳלוֹ בְּצוּר יְרוֹמְמֵנִי |
| 6) And now my head is lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord. |
ו. וְעַתָּה יָרוּם רֹאשִׁי עַל־אֹיְבַי סְבִיבוֹתַי וְאֶזְבְּחָה בְאָהֳלוֹ זִבְחֵי תְרוּעָה אָשִׁירָה וַאֲזַמְּרָה לַי־יָ |
| 7) Hear, Lord, my voice when I call; be gracious to me and answer me. |
ז. שְׁמַע־יְיָ קוֹלִי אֶקְרָא וְחָנֵּנִי וַעֲנֵנִי |
| 8) To You my heart has said: “Seek My face”; Your face, Lord, I will seek. |
ח. לְךָ אָמַר לִבִּי בַּקְּשׁוּ פָנָי אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ יְיָ אֲבַקֵּשׁ |
| 9) Do not hide Your face from me; do not turn away Your servant in anger. You have been my help; do not abandon me and do not forsake me, O God of my salvation. |
ט. אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי אַל־תַּט בְּאַף עַבְדֶּךָ עֶזְרָתִי הָיִיתָ אַל־תִּטְשֵׁנִי וְאַל־תַּעַזְבֵנִי אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי |
| 10) For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will gather me in. |
י. כִּי־אָבִי וְאִמִּי עֲזָבוּנִי וַי־יָ יַאַסְפֵנִי |
| 11) Teach me Your way, Lord, and lead me in a straight path because of my enemies. |
יא. הוֹרֵנִי יְיָ דַּרְכֶּךָ וּנְחֵנִי בְּאֹרַח מִישׁוֹר לְמַעַן שׁוֹרְרָי |
| 12) Do not give me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence. |
יב. אַל־תִּתְּנֵנִי בְּנֶפֶשׁ צָרָי כִּי־קָמוּ בִי עֵדֵי־שֶׁקֶר וִיפֵחַ חָמָס |
| 13) If I had not believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living— |
יג. לוּלֵא הֶאֱמַנְתִּי לִרְאוֹת בְּטוּב־יְיָ בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּים |
| 14) Hope in the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, hope in the Lord. |
יד. קַוֵּה אֶל־יְיָ חֲזַק וְיַאֲמֵץ לִבֶּךָ וְקַוֵּה אֶל־יְיָ |
Chapter 28
| 1) Of David. To You, Lord, I call; my Rock, do not be silent to me. Lest, if You are silent to me, I will become like those who go down to the pit. |
א. לְדָוִד אֵלֶיךָ יְיָ אֶקְרָא צוּרִי אַל־תֶּחֱרַשׁ מִמֶּנִּי פֶּן־תֶּחֱשֶׁה מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם־יוֹרְדֵי בוֹר |
| 2) Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You, when I lift up my hands toward the innermost sanctuary of Your holiness. |
ב. שְׁמַע קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנַי בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךָ בְּנָשְׂאִי יָדַי אֶל־דְּבִיר קָדְשֶׁךָ |
| 3) Do not drag me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts. |
ג. אַל־תִּמְשְׁכֵנִי עִם־רְשָׁעִים וְעִם־פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן דֹּבְרֵי שָׁלוֹם עִם־רֵעֵיהֶם וְרָעָה בִלְבָבָם |
| 4) Give them according to their deeds, and according to the evil of their actions; according to the work of their hands give to them; render their recompense to them. |
ד. תֵּן־לָהֶם כְּפָעֳלָם וּכְרֹעַ מַעַלְלֵיהֶם כְּמַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵיהֶם תֵּן לָהֶם הָשֵׁב גְּמוּלָם לָהֶם |
| 5) Because they do not regard the works of the Lord, nor the work of His hands, He will break them down and not build them up. |
ה. כִּי לֹא־יָבִינוּ אֶל־פְּעֻלֹּת יְיָ וְאֶל־מַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו יֶהֶרְסֵם וְלֹא יִבְנֵם |
| 6) Blessed be the Lord, for He has heard the voice of my supplications. |
ו. בָּרוּךְ יְיָ כִּי־שָׁמַע קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָי |
| 7) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I was helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. |
ז. יְיָ עֻזִּי וּמָגִנִּי בּוֹ־בָטַח לִבִּי וְנֶעֱזָרְתִּי וַיַּעֲלֹז לִבִּי וּמִשִּׁירִי אֲהוֹדֶנּוּ |
| 8) The Lord is strength to them, and He is a stronghold of salvations for His anointed one. |
ח. יְיָ עֹז־לָמוֹ וּמָעוֹז יְשׁוּעוֹת מְשִׁיחוֹ הוּא |
| 9) Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; shepherd them, and carry them forever. |
ט. הוֹשִׁיעָה אֶת־עַמֶּךָ וּבָרֵךְ אֶת־נַחֲלָתֶךָ וּרְעֵם וְנַשְּׂאֵם עַד־הָעוֹלָם |
